Waynetown - Virgil Wilkinson, 86, died at 1:55 p.m. Tuesday in the Golden Manor Nursing Home of Ladoga. He was a farmer and retired in 1961. He moved from his farm home into Waynetown in 1976. He was a member and deacon of the Waynetown Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Waynetown Masonic Lodge No 302. He served on the Board of Directors of the Elston Bank & Trust Company for 20 years. He also served on board of the Waynetown State Bank. He was graduated from Waynetown HS. Mr. Wilkinson was born Oct 1, 1898, son of Joe and Mary Alice Stonebraker Wilkinson. He was married at Waynetown Sept 12, 1915 to Nina V. Beck. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Charles of Rt 1, Waynetown; a daughter, Mary DeEtta Runyan of Waynetown; five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and two grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Thomas Funeral Home with Revs. James Hatfield and Alan Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today. - kbz
